Light floors, dark floors, gray floors--- we’ve seen them all! But I met with a client the other day who wanted her New York city-life apartment to have that urban feel that many suburbanites crave. She wants a dark floor because she thinks that will help her achieve that and she’s right. So why not go really dark? Or iridescent at that?
A Philosophical Discussion on Design
November 11, 2017
I was asking myself a philosophical question recently about the infinite element of design. If every fabric, material and item was laid out on a planetary grid, would there ever be a finite number of combinations? Finally, I determined, the answer is no. It would never be finite, because even if you make a googolplex number of combinations, from there any shape or location of the elements can in any way be modified in any direction, in any dimension. Design is infinite.
