Venetian Plaster in Venice!

Leaving Venice and all its glorious design was more difficult than I thought it would be. I was so taken by all the beauty-- the motifs, stones, mosaics, and character that defines the city. It definitely exceeded my expectations! The style of Venice is just extraordinary and it is not surprising, then, that it does not stop at the city limits.

Light floors, dark floors, gray floors--- we’ve seen them all! But I met with a client the other day who wanted her New York city-life apartment to have that urban feel that many suburbanites crave. She wants a dark floor because she thinks that will help her achieve that and she’s right. So why not go really dark? Or iridescent at that?

A Philosophical Discussion on Design

I was asking myself a philosophical question recently about the infinite element of design. If every fabric, material and item was laid out on a planetary grid, would there ever be a finite number of combinations? Finally, I determined, the answer is no. It would never be finite, because even if you make a googolplex number of combinations, from there any shape or location of the elements can in any way be modified in any direction, in any dimension. Design is infinite.
